About Nidri

Basilico is located in Nidri, the seaside village of Lefkada on the eastern side of the island, 17 km from the town of Lefkada. It is very easy to get here, either by driving or by bus. Nidri became the favourite village of Aristotle Onassis, the famous Greek shipowner & businessman, in 1963 when he bought Skorpios, a small island opposite Nidri. However, just opposite and very close to Nydri is the islet of Madouri, where you see the impressive mansion of the family of the Ionian poet Aristotle Valaoritis.
