2. What data we collect
- Contact form: your name, email, phone number (optional) and the content of your message.
- Visit statistics: only if you consent, via Google Analytics (pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location by country/city). IP addresses are anonymised.
- Google Maps: only if you consent or press “Show map”, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies.
- Technical data: like every website, our hosting server keeps standard access logs (IP address, date and time, page requested) for security and proper operation.
We do not collect special categories of data and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To reply to your message, at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in our legitimate interest in communicating with our guests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Statistics and maps, only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
- Site security, in our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. Reservations
Table reservations are made through an external online booking platform (Carbonara). When you book, the platform processes your details under its own privacy policy, which you can read on its website.
5. Who receives your data
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs.
- Google Ireland Ltd (Google Analytics, Google Maps), only with your consent. Google may transfer data to the USA under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. How long we keep it
- Contact form messages: for as long as needed to handle your request and for no more than 12 months.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months.
- Your cookie choice: until you change it or clear your browser data.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise them, email info@basilico-restaurant.gr and we will reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and anti-spam protection on the contact form.
